*** Right click to use Special button or assign your key to the "special" command (for example, by writing "bind MOUSE2 special" in the console).

*** Scout ***

MegaTF

Definitely the fastest class in MegaTF, able to overtake and outsmart anyone. The jetpack further increases its mobility, as well as allows it to fly and overcome serious obstacles. A concussion grenade will stun anyone within the radius of its impact, which will greatly interfere with walking and aiming. Flash grenades effectively blind opponents. Unfortunately, for the sake of high speed, the scout sacrifices firepower. Even the best scout can lose, so always be faster than your opponent!

* Equipment:

Bat - high melee damage, also has a high critical hit chance.

Shotgun - classic boom stick.

Mac-10 - submachine gun used by special forces.

Flash grenade - for a short period of time, blinds enemies within the radius of destruction.

Concussion grenade - stunned opponents cannot effectively shoot and move.

* Special abilities:

Flash mine - blinds the enemy who has stepped on it.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Disarm detpack - allows you to disarm enemy detpacks.

Scanner - Scan10, Scan30 and Scan100 commands allow you to scan the area for enemies. When you enter a command (or press the key assigned to it), you will see a lightning signal following from your character and pointing in the direction of the nearest enemy. Parameters 10, 30 and 100 are the scan radius.

Special Button - A jetpack that allows you to climb into places not accessible to other classes. Also, the flame of the jetpack sets enemies into fire.

*** Sniper ***

MegaTF

Snipers are extremely effective defensively, helping to slow down pressure and break enemy attacks. If scouts often die, then snipers can die even more often, hunting each other. You should clearly prioritize your targets in order to survive as a sniper. It is recommended first of all to focus on eliminating enemy snipers, and then all other enemies. Ignoring an enemy sniper for a short time can be a fatal mistake. A few important points: learn to hide and learn to shoot on the go.

* Equipment:

Axe - standard melee weapon.

Sniper Rifle (Standard Mode) - for an effective shot, you have to hold the shot button to reach your rifle's maximum power. Headshot deals critical damage. The “dot” console command enables and disables a laser pointer.

Sniper Rifle (Auto) - special automatic fire mode that can help you in a critical situation.

Mac-10 - submachine gun used by special forces.

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

Flare - great for illuminating dark areas.

* Special abilities:

Alarm - triggered when an enemy runs past it.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Special Button - turn the telescopic sight on or off.

*** Soldier ***

MegaTF

Soldier is considered by many to be the most versatile and widely used class in MegaTF. A lot of soldiers are always involved in the defense, and most of the best players are at least pretty good at playing this class. Good soldiers are always needed. The soldier uses a rocket launcher with 50 missiles in reserve, so he rarely runs out of ammunition. By wisely using their spike traps and proximity mines (as well as their own durability and destructive power), soldiers are able to defend themselves very effectively against light classes. The soldier is capable of overpowering any opponent, but still has some problems with opposing heavier classes, such as the Demoman or Heavy Guy.

* Equipment:

Axe - standard melee weapon.

Shotgun - classic boom stick.

Double-barreled shotgun - not without reason is a powerful melee weapon so beloved by many.

Rocket launcher - the main soldier's weapon, powerful and versatile.

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

Nail grenade - a grenade that bounces and throws deadly spikes around it.

* Special abilities:

Spike trap - deals damage and slows down enemies who step on it.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Proximity mine - explodes when the enemy nearby.

Special Button - reload weapon.

*** Demoman ***

MegaTF

Demoman is a walking explosion waiting for its moment. Its explosive armor makes it extremely effective against enemy soldiers, as well as a favorite offensive class. Unfortunately, his armor is vulnerable to projectile weapons (such as a medic's nail gun, sniper rifle, or a guy's heavy gun). The Demoman can also place improvised pipebomb traps that detonate at the touch of a button. Trap bombs make the Demoman an excellent defender. A good demolition man is capable of high-quality mining of the approaches to the position and by this greatly spoil the enemy's offensive. Finally, the Demoman can plant detpacks. When the countdown on the detpack reaches zero, it will deal massive damage to opponents unlucky enough to be within the blast radius.

* Equipment:

Axe - standard melee weapon.

Shotgun - classic boom stick.

Grenade launcher - demoman's primary weapon. Can switch between different firing modes: pipebomb (key 4, explodes using the Special button), long-range shot (key 5), classic grenades (key 6).

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

MIRV grenade - splits into many small grenades when exploded.

* Special abilities:

AirMIRV - launches in the direction of the Demoman's view and flies forward for a while, then explodes, showering enemies with a rain of grenades.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Laser trip bomb - wall mountable. Explodes if the enemy crosses the laser beam.

Detpack - keys ";", "‘", "\" or Det5, Det20 and Det50 commands, allows you to lay the detpak with the corresponding timer time.

*** Medic ***

MegaTF

The Medic is an excellent support class. Used mainly in defense, it can significantly complicate the enemy's attack. Hitting teammates with a special medpack-axe will restore their health. You can also heal stun and blind from grenades, leg damage from spike traps, or remove hallucinations caused by a spy's gas grenade. All this can really help the defense, which sooner or later will suffer from the ailments listed above. You can also fill the Engineer's Dispensers with health, which will allow your teammates to heal if you are not around. But to be honest, the Medic can do much more than just heal teammates. He can also do a great job of fighting against other classes. Hitting an enemy with a bio-axe will gradually inflict disease damage. Even if you hit the enemy only once, he will not be able to get rid of the harmful effect on his own, only with the help of a medic. The Medic also possesses a Super Nailgun (one of the best weapons in the game), making him a formidable foe. If a medic has high firepower and speed, it means that he lacks durability. To effectively support teammates, you need to learn how to dodge enemy shots well and accurately throw concussion grenades.

* Equipment:

Bio-axe - medic's unique melee weapon that infects enemies with diseases. One hit is enough - and your opponent is doomed (unless he is helped by a his team's medic).

Shotgun - classic boom stick.

Double-barreled shotgun - not without reason is a powerful melee weapon so beloved by many.

Super nailgun - a machine gun that shoots sharp spikes. An incredibly effective weapon.

Medpack-axe - a special axe, if you hit a teammate it will restore his health.

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

Concussion grenade - stunned opponents cannot effectively shoot and move.

* Special abilities:

Syringe - throw medicines. Picking it up, your teammates will restore their health.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Heal self - the ability to get rid of diseases and other negative effects.

Medpack - throw a medpack, so medic and his teammates can restore health.

Special Button - drop syringe

Healing aura - Medic can use the healing aura “cmd aura”, the power and radius of which depends by the character's level and the “masters of healing” ability.

*** Hwguy (Heawy Weapons Guy) ***

MegaTF

A walking tank, with firepower to match. Slow speed is its only drawback. Effective both in defense and offense. Deadly (if you haven't figured it out yet). Most other classes can hit a Heavy Weapons Guy with everything they have - and it will still be alive. The heavy 20mm cannon, firing 10 rounds at a time, is capable of literally mowing down opponents. Your assault cannon fires in a never-ending stream, giving enemies no second of rest. If it seems to you that a heavy dude cannot be stopped - be careful, as left without ammunition you will immediately become an easy prey.

* Equipment:

Axe - standard melee weapon.

Shotgun - classic boom stick.

Double-barreled shotgun - not without reason is a powerful melee weapon so beloved by many.

Mac-10 - submachine gun used by special forces.

Assault cannon - a weapon of incredible power. Has two fire modes - machinegun, shooting in an endless stream, and 20mm cannon, shoots very powerful charges, but quickly consumes ammo. Switch to key 7.

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

MIRV grenade - splits into many small grenades when exploded.

* Special abilities:

Spike trap - deals damage and slows down enemies who step on it.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Special Button - switch to double barrel shotgun.

*** Pyro ***

MegaTF

Speed and huge thermal potential. Pyro is a fairly versatile class capable of solving many combat missions. Armed with a flamethrower and napalm rocket launcher, Pyro can set enemies on fire and hold back. It is especially good at defense - it can easily deter the attacks of lighter classes in a small area. His speed gives him the ability to pounce on the slower, heavy classes and burn them.

* Equipment:

Chainsaw - surrounded? Out of ammo? It doesn't matter, turn on the chainsaw and rush into the crowd of enemies!

Shotgun - classic boom stick.

Flamethrower - pyro's business card. It is possible to set fire to the ground under the enemies, which greatly saves ammo.

Incendiary cannon - a rocket launcher that fires napalm rockets. Very useful if the flamethrower can't reach enemies.

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

Napalm grenade - explodes several times over a short period of time, dealing damage and setting unlucky opponents on fire.

Special Button - switch to flamethrower.

* Special abilities:

Lava pool - a trap that inflicts fire damage to enemies advancing into it.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

*** Spy ***

MegaTF

Spy is a very valuable attacking class. First, they can disguise themselves by taking on the appearance of someone from the enemy team. The enemy will simply let you pass him if you are smart enough and well disguised. In addition, while you are disguised, enemy turrets will not fire at you. Also, the spy is invisible to monsters, but some of them have the ability to detect disguise. Of course, you cannot shoot without losing your disguise, but you can throw grenades. The Spy is a close combat specialist and is capable of overpowering most of the light to medium classes instantly by sneaking up behind. The spy dagger's damage is much stronger than any other class melee weapon. Spies also use grappling hooks to quickly cover long distances and access hard-to-reach places. The main weapon of the spy is a tranquilizer - it slows down enemies almost to a stop, after which they can be finished off with a dagger without too much noise. They also have the ability to simulate death, confusing the enemy. Finally, each spy is given a backpack trap. It looks like a regular backpack with ammunition, but when the enemy picks it up, all of its ammunition will disappear. Beware of enemy spies that can reveal your disguise.

* Equipment:

Spy dagger - critical damage to the back, in some cases it can one hit enemy (depends on your "critical hit" attribute).

Tranquilizer - spy's primary ranged weapon. Deals damage to enemies, slowing them.

Double-barreled shotgun - not without reason is a powerful melee weapon so beloved by many.

Mac-10 - submachine gun used by special forces.

Grappeling hook - used for quickly covering long distances and accessing hard-to-reach places. Also capable of tearing enemies apart.

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

Gas grenade - releases gas, inflicting periodic damage to all enemies in the area of effect. Also causes hallucinations among the players of the enemy team.

* Special abilities:

Ammo trap - looks like a normal ammo backpack. The enemy who picks up the trap loses all their ammunition. Monsters take damage.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Special Button - opens a spy menu, allowing you to disguise and pretend to be dead.

*** Engineer ***

MegaTF MegaTF MegaTF

Engineer is able to build turrets, ammo dispensers and teleporters. All of these are critical to a team's victory. If your team can do without a turret, then placing it near a flag or other significant points allows you to protect the rear from enemy spies. Uses cells as a building resource. It costs 130 cells to build a terli, and another 130 for each upgrade. The dispenser costs 100 cells. Turrets can be upgraded two more times after being built. The third level of the turret can instantly destroy almost any class. Only spies in disguise are able to slip through unnoticed. Light classes are usually an easy target for a turret. Heavy classes and spies will try to use grenades to destroy your turret. We advise you to focus your fire on the heavy classes while the turret is dealing with the light ones. Engineers also use magnetic mines, stepping on which the enemy is magnetized to the place for 15 seconds. Taking advantage of the moment, attack them from a distance inaccessible to them, or throw grenades from around the corner.

* Equipment:

Wrench - holding the wrench in hand, press the special button (the right mouse button by default) to open the build menu. Hit your building with the wrench to open the maintenance menu (refueling, repairing, etc.).

Railgun - engineer's main ranged weapon with two firing modes - regular shot and super-shot. Press the weapon select key again (default 2) to switch firing mode.

Double-barreled shotgun - not without reason is a powerful melee weapon so beloved by many.

Gravity gun - allows you to move constructed objects, turrets, ammo (amoo explodes if you shoot them with the gun).

Grenade - classic frag grenade.

EMP grenade - deals colossal damage to enemy devices. Making nearby ammo boxes to explode.

* Special abilities:

Megnet mine - having stepped on it, the enemy is magnetized to the place for 15 seconds.

Toaster - thrown like a grenade, allows you to trick the enemy.

Laser drone - launch a drone flying forward and attacking enemies on it's path. Explodes at the end, dealing massive electromagnetic damage. Cooldown - 1 minute.

Building - using a wrench, you can build a turret, tesla turret, dispenser, teleport, as well as improve and maintain them. The "detdispenser" and "detsentry" commands detonate the dispenser and turret, dealing damage to enemies.

*** Install instructions ***

1) Extract the archive.

2) In the game folder start "MegaTF Coop Launcher.exe" then press "Start MegaTF Server".

3) If the server is started successfully (the green window MVDSV appeared), run the game with the "Launch Quake" button.

4) Be SURE to change your player name in Options > Player (NewPlayer by default), because statistics will be saved to this nickname.

5) Open the console “~” and write: connect 127.0.0.1

6) Play! In the MVDSV window you can set any map – the map command “map name” (e.g., map hip1m1). To close the server you have to use the "QUIT" button, because if you just close the window, the server's process will continue to hang in your system.

P.S. If you don't want to use the launcher, run mvdsv_71.exe with the parameters "+gamedir fortress +exec coop"

*** Basic commands and keys ***

*Write the "changeclass" command in the console to open the class selection menu. The change takes effect after respawn. Or you can just write the name of the class. After entering the “randompc” command, you will be respawned as random class each time.

*Press the right mouse button to use special ability of your class (for example, a sniper rifle zoom) or bind your key with "special" command (for example, write in console "bind MOUSE2 special")

*Grenades – Actively use grenades. Z – normal grenade, X – special-grenade. (or bind your keys to +gren1 and +gren2)

*Special abilities. Also, each class has special abilities used on the C, V, B and N keys (or assign your keys with Drop1, Drop2, Drop 3 and Drop 4 commands). Scout Scanner with Maximum Radius - G key (or assign your own keys with scan10, scan30 and scan100 commands). Demoman's detpack – keys ";", "‘", "|" or Det5, Det20 and Det50 commands.

*Other commands:

mega – open MegaTF menu.
ir – night vision.
lay – enable or disable the “lay” mode. When your character is not moving, he lies down.
chute – open the parachute (left Alt by default). Cooldown 15 seconds.
holo – use a hologram.
dropammo – drop some ammo to share with your teammates.
discard – throw ammo that your class does not need.
heal – eat a can of pork and beans.
yell, taunt - commands used to communicate with your teammates. By default, the keys are “[” and “]”.
timeleft – place a miniturret (not to be confused with the engineer's turret), existing for several minutes (I replaced the standard sound with another one, since it was hell for the ears). Attention! When this turret destroys enemies - you are not given frags or experience!
uptime – server up time.
showloc – show coordinates (useful for developers).

*Press 8 to view General information about your character (gold, XP, etc.)

*Leveling the character. Type "cmd attrib" in the console (or the L key by default). You will see a list of skills such as rate of fire, reload, etc. At the bottom will be written your number of attribute points that you have earned. Check this number regularly. Then, when you have 1 (or several, depending on your level) points, write the "cmd spend" command with the skill number (from the cmd attrib list) and you will see a message that your skill has been successfully upgraded, or not upgraded (if you do not have enough points). At level 80, you will receive an Xav-nailgun. Use the “impulse 9” command to activate it instead of a shotgun, tranquilizer, or electric gun.

All classes can buy and sell upgrades, power-ups and other items from merchants. The command “cmd inv” (by default, the “I” key) displays list of your items. Items can be used by the same command + item number (eg “cmd inv 2”). Also the “inv” command (without cmd) shows the total amount of your ammo and other items.

There is also a custom skins system! Use “cmd customskin x”, where x is the name of the skin. Skins are in the folder fortress > skins. The folder already contains 1177 skins, it's time to choose your one! This feature becomes available after the character reaches level 10.

The new version has the ability to call minions! To do this, upgrade the “minion summon” attribute, and then write the command “cmd summon” (or "J" key by default) near the body of the monster that you want to summon.

*For a complete list of commands type "cmd help".

*** Performance ***

By default, graphic settings in this pack are set to maximum. If you are experiencing fps drops, dynamic light is most often the root cause. You can turn it off in Options > Graphics > Lighting (at the very bottom) > Dynamic Lights. Also in the same section at the very top there are presets (GFX Graphics Preset) that allow you to quickly change the general graphics level.

Anti-aliasing is disabled by default. You can enable it as follows:

Open the file with notepad: “Game folder > ezquake > configs > config.cfg”, look for the header “//OpenGL Rendering”, insert below it:

gl_multisamples "4"

*** Maps ***

The mod also works with custom maps. This pack already contains 3040 maps, b ut if you want more - "Quaddicted.com" is your way to go.

*** Classic Team Fortress mod with bots ***

Also includes classic Quake Team Fortress with bot support. Read more about it in ClassicTFBots.txt

*** Online ***

If you start the server through “MegaTF Coop Launcher.exe”, MVDSV picks a master.cfg (command + exec master), included all currently working quake masters. If you have an external IP address and port 27500 is open (used by default), your server will be visible in the server lists for other players, and you may be lucky to “catch” a couple of live players and have some fun. If you want to play alone only, open masters.cfg and comment out the line with two slashes (e.g. "// setmaster...").

*** Sources, editing, compilation... ***

Fortunately, the author of the mod opened the source. Located in the folder “fortress> src> Uber-Team-Fortress-master”. The Uber-Team-Fortress-master_mod folder - source codes with my edits (more about edits in Pet_Readme.txt).

Working with sources is a simple matter: we make changes to the code (I use Notepad ++), save, run fteqccgui.exe from the same folder (we need to use this old version of FTEQCC, because it generates progs.dat of the sixth version. New, seventh, MVDSV does not eat), in the program select “coop_regular_progs.src”, press “Compile”, we get fresh qwprogs.dat in the same folder. If errors occurred during compilation, they are displayed in the window, which is also very convenient. Then copy our qwprogs.dat to the fortress folder and check the changes!
